Felix Contreras, Cultural Ambassador

Felix Contreras is a dynamic speaker/presenter covering Latin music and culture. As a curator of NPR Music's world renowned Tiny Desk Concert series and pioneering NPR podcaster, Felix has been on the front lines of chronicling the growth and unprecedented shifts in Latin music in the new millenium. With almost 50 years of journalism experience he is an award-winning storyteller of the Latino experience in the United States and abroad. His presentations help audiences understand the contemporary and historical expression of Latino/a culture. He is become well known as Tio Felix because of his natural, easy going demeanor and ability to relate to his audiences on almost a family level.
